lo stocco e' piu' efficace nel perforare le armature di qualsiasi spada a lama larga, e' stato un po' un ricorso storico visto che il protostocco era propio il gladio che poi con l'avvento della spatha progressivamente non si e' piu' usato. :sur:

e' piu' pratica e si puo' attuare una scherma piu' sicura e conservativa ed una posizione profilata, ma non parlerei di supremazia assoluta, la scherma di punta e' stata "preferita" in un certo periodo per poi tornare ai fendenti con le sciabole militari (quelle dritte da cavalleria pesante erano adatte solo alla carica e poco maneggevoli nel combattimento).

L'oplologia per me è una scoperta recente; invece storia è una vecchia passione: peraltro da quest'estate ho iniziato a leggere un paio di riviste, Civiltà e Storica, piuttosto interessanti (non banali come focus storia). Te le consiglio  ;)
