In generale reputo che la scherma debba ridurre le azioni ai minimi termini per essere bella.

Come mai guardando le foto continuano a venirmi in mente pesanti analogie con le scuole orientali tradizionali che ho frequentato in passato?

a me pare che il tipo coi baffi ci guardi attraverso almeno 5 generazioni, in fondo e' una figata trovare queste "finestre" temporali  :sur: la mia idea e' che sia un esercizio super didattico/formale, forse stavano preparando un sorta di saggio ginnico coreografato (lo facevano anche coi fucili e le baionette)  :)
